Mise-en-scéne

In the movie Lolita, I chose two of the scenes. It was when Humbert knows Lolita in her house. These scenes are mise-en-scene because we can conclude that they going to have a relationship. We can interpret it when we see their behavior. The first scene scene start when Humbert comes to Lolita's house. Her mother is showing to him her house, and he is not interesting in buy it. But when she shows him the garden he saw Lolita. She dresses a bikini. At that time both were watching with a look very captivating. And he changes his opinion, and decides to buy the house. In the second scene Lolita, her mother and Humbert are in an auto cinema. She is scared and put her hand in Humbert's hand and her mother too. But we can see that Humbert likes that Lolita put her hand on him, but he don't like the hand of her mother. In the first scene I came to the conclusion that between humbert and lolita are kind of attraction. This because Humbert wanted to leave the house, but to reach the garden and see the beautiful flowers, the beautiful garden, and of course the beauty of Lolita, all the things grab his attention. In the second scene I can interpret that humbert loves Lolita and she is attracted by him. Because their hands and faces show that they want to have a relationship.
